That out of the way, based upon what vendors & productlines you are reporting on, the cost of a SAM extender for SCCM ( or otherwise) that you've looked into may actually be worth it.
Many SAM vendors ( including my company) have various integrations with SCCM; both continuous as well as periodic. Likewise, these add-on integrations may also be available as one time events, timed subscriptions as well a perpetual licenses.
That being said, we all might be better able to help you if you help us understand 1) Why continuous ? ( or at least define the time frequency) and 2) to what end? If your reasons are to determine license compliance at any one time, many of us vendors can assist. But if your focus for continuous reporting is for chargeback, churn management, package deployement success, BOYD policy enforcement ( or other 'tactical' endeavour), then maybe that narrows the field?
