Be quite precise about your software asset management requirements when it comes to picking one tool to do it all. Start to consider recognition rates of converting raw software data into readable (and recognised) softare titles; push Service Now on how they handle updgrades and downgrades of software licences, contracts/purchase data/proof of entitlement management, and product use rights etc. There are enough SAM tools that work very well with Service Now, but unless you have very basic SAM requirements and a static environment that has no challenging enterprise systems to manage you could find yourself having to go cap in hand to senior management explaining why you aren't getting the SAM reports you thought you (and they) were expecting.
