they appear to be a agent-based desktop focused SAM tool with their own catalogue. One of many others in this space. Looks like they also have license metering functionality to suport s/w reclaim. Although they hint at supporting IBM I would be very dubious of this claim. Their support for server based products is also conspiciously absent from the marketing material.
A more important question is whether they support the vendors and platforms of your organisation and if you want to roll out an agent
I suggest you compile a check list of requriements for your SAM tool and get into specific details on each vendor. Then ask each vendor to indicate if they support that platform and vendor TO AUDIT LEVEL.
Do they add anything extra that Microsoft SCCM and MAP doesn't give you for inventory.
What is the coverage for SQL, Oracle, IBM server products?
How will they help you rmeter and manage O365?
How good is the suport for virtual desktops and servers?
What is the cost of professional services?
How accessible is the data for export and reports?
It may be the case that Xensam will give you a great deal to win the business but be careful of the long term cost if it proves difficult to support or it misses data.
