How are you managing your FileMaker User Licenses?
My company had a FileMaker VLA which was transitioned over to their new User License scheme in May: https://www.filemaker.com/purchase/store/faq-teams.html.
My users now all have access to FileMaker Pro Advanced (Desktop Installation), GO (iOS/Android App), and WebDirect (Browser), and we own about 1000 User licenses and 20 Server. This vendor is a new one for me, and I am struggling with how to manage my users and stay in a proven compliant state.
We are given a single activation key that can be used for all installations. It seems to me like a lot of this is based on an honor system, since there is no limit to how many times this can be deployed. I don't know of any portal where I am supposed to assign users, but they claim that I can reassign a license to a new user if one leaves the company.
It appears that there is some sort of logic built into the Filemaker Admin Console, that will show the amount of Concurrent Users (Not a concurrent license though) from Pro Advanced, GO, & WebDirect. This will also show "Additional" users that are not consuming any of my licenses. How is that logic calculated? Does it see that the same user that is connected with Pro Advanced is also connected with GO and its only using one license? If that is the case, how does FileMaker know this? Is there a user account that is created when a user logs in, and if so is there a repository of all of my users stored somewhere?
