It depends what software and what the EULA states that goes with the software in question. Some will be time limited, some witll have reduced functionality, some will require uninstall at the end of the trial period, some will cost monmey and others will be free. It will vary between publishers and applications so always check the EULA and any accompanying use rights

Process Steps for a Software POC can be seen from two points of view: (1) as the user of the software, (2) as the developer of the software.

It basically involves a general approach for testing a certain assumption which would prove that the concept of using or developing the software in a particular way is feasible and applicable in practice. To put it simply the POC should prove that the software product is suitable for solving a particular busines problem.

It would help to know the problem you're trying to solve with the POC, but a general approach would be:

- identify the problem criteria;

- make a short list of solutions;

- test the solutions against your problem criteria;

- choose the solution which best aligns with the criteria;

Hope this helps! :-)
