Looking for a mentor
I decided I'd like to throw my hat in the ITAM world. I have previous experiance with HAM and IT Procurement.
My current role at a new job has allowed me to "touch" other aspects of the IT world. I see a huge need in ITAM. I know my previous experiance fits well within ITAM.
On my own I have discovered the Get License Ready website for MS products. I've finished the certifications they offer for MS SAM and Licensing in big organzations. I also plan to do their certifications that dig deeper into the agreements. I see myself getting the CSAM certification too.
I'm looking for someone to help guide me in the directions that I need to help educate myself and show my employer that I am a huge asset to them.
The ITAM podcast has been a wealth of information. I'm listening to podcast from today and as far back as 2017 and find they are relevant today for someone stepping into the arena. I think I've created a great playlist from the podcasts for those newly diving into ITAM. :)
I'm viewing as many webinars as I can too. My fear is making bad choices on how to approach my employer.
Please, if anyone has time to mentor someone who is excited to join the world of ITAM but wants to make the right choices the first time, let me know. :) I have more details to offer but wanted to make this a short a possible. :)
