Do you know how SAM Toolset Vendors measure user CAL and SQL license metrics? Are these simply WMI commands and searches in the computer registry? Are these commands/scripts well published or a dark art?
Do the majority of toolset vendors simply just store the license records but suggest that customer use Microsoft Map Toolkit determine what’s actual installed and being used? Why would some toolset vendors be reluctant to develop this feature? Is it notoriously difficult to manage?
Genrally speaking how would they recommend the entitlement and usage data be reconciled? Manually using an excel output from both tools or do some vendors have an interface between both?
