I've stumbled across a new SAM tool start up that claims to capture click through EULA transactions as they happen. https://www.binadox.com/
Website blurb says:
"Binadox detects new software installations and SaaS subscriptions, and captures their license agreements and terms of services, accepted by your employees, in real time. Thus, the organization becomes immediately aware of the potential liabilities they might face, and can take measures proactively"
"What Binadox aims to solve is automating the process of monitoring which license agreements were accepted, by actually capturing the text once it's displayed and allowing easy decision making regarding each installation and subscription by presenting all the assets and agreements in a single place where IT / Legal department can read and analyze those license agreements and decide what to do next to lower the risk."
Whilst smart, the issue I see is that it requires yet another agent to be installed and managed. Perhaps the go to market for Binadox would be stronger if their agent worked with existing infrastructure instead (e.g. embedded within an existing Inventory agent)
What do you think? I'm not commercially linked to Binadox or stand to benefit, just curious about people's views on this new way of addressing licensing risk.
