“I would find it useful to have further information about how big organisations manage all the itsy-bitsy software items.
A large part of our software spend it sewn up in major agreements with Microsoft, Adobe, and a few bits of industry specific Master Agreements. We have LAR support for many other end-user software requests.
But what would be the best methods of managing all the vendors where the vendor only deals directly, and we’re buying only 2-3 licenses? Or niche software from a small developer who only transact through creditcard payment. We have about 200 of this type of itsy-bitsy software, and it’s a faff to manage. Especially as there is no business appetite to invest in SAM tools.
I’d be interested in finding out how other businesses (1500 users and more, semi-mature procurement department) manage this sort of thing.”
