Currently in the process of writing a policy for O365 with my CIO and HR Director. I've nearly finished it, but I want to re-write the bit about 'long-term sick' and 'maternity leave' users.
Currently, the business isn't doing anything - just leaving the user with a full E3 license. However, a number of the users in the above category do not work within 12-month window or just check emails via the web. E3 seems overkill and a waste of money.
I thought a K1 would work. However, we are legally obliged to put all mailboxes on Legal Hold. K1 does not allow you to do that. I've looked into Exchange Online Plan 2, but still unsure if this is the best route.
Would anyone be willing to share their O365 policy for long-term sick or maternity leave users who are not working for 12+ months?
