Impact of Software Subscriptions with 'continuous update' on Tested Environments
Interested to hear experiences on the above.
"Tested Environments" (such as SOE & Domain releases) have an in-built assumption patches and release updates will only be deployed through the Release management function with it's Test Phase - "Pull" rather than "Push".
How does this change with the current industry drive towards Software Subscription based licensing potentially including continuous patch and release updates being 'Push deployed' into production?
Is there a mismatch in expectations and reality here? Are continuous update Subscriptions being sold without recognition of the need for "Environment Test" to check an update doesn't "Break" something else?
