Answer Question
Microsoft MPSA vs EA
I'm interested in hearing opinions on what determines whether MPSA or EA is the best licensing agreement to go with.
My thoughts are;
MPSA Pros:
Flexible
No org-wide commitment
Not paying for undeployed licenses
No requirement for compulsory SA
True down by dropping SA coverage at renewal
EA Pros:
Locked three-year pricing
Discounts compared to MPSA - often significant
Anything else to add? It seems to me that unless an EA can be tailored to be more flexible (in the customer's favour) the price discounts are eroded by the org-wide commitment and no ability to true-down. Also in the case of O365 an overnight deployment simply isn't going to happen so you're always going to end up with subscriptions sat on the shelf, possibly for several months?
